Great Wall - No introduction needed. We recommend takinging a train further out from the city than most tourists and going to a less visited part of the wall. This will ensure you get a less crowded section of the wall.
Forbidden City - The forbidden city is HUGE. You will want to take a full day to see everything here and expect to do a lot of walking. The palace museum is part of the forbidden city experience as is Tiananmen square.
Summer Palace - This is another beautiful palace to walk around. Top things to see here are the western-styled "Marble Ship" (Shifang), the Hall of Well-being and Longevity (Renshou Dian) with its elaborate throne, and the beautiful courtyard adjoining the Hall of Happiness and Longevity (Leshou Tang Hall). You'll also want to see the impressive 19th-century Great Theatre, where you can catch performances of traditional Chinese plays and music.
798 Art Zone - Also known as Dashanzi Art District, this neighborhood has become a hotspot for shopping as well as exploring and just enjoying the art from artists around the world.
